Is your hotel deserted? Check these five things before lowering the price
Low prices feel like a shortcut, but often it doesn't solve problems. Check these five things out first.
It's not always too much. For example, the West Java BPS recorded the downloading rate of stars and nonstars in that province for 37.88% in February 2025. That is, many hotels are deserted on a certain moon. The question is: is your property more deserted than the market around it?
Compare it to the market around
Look at the price and availability of competitors within a close radius of OTA for the same date. If the market is also deserted, focus on stealing the market share, not the price war. If only your property was deserted, the problem was on your property.
# # 2. Check the registration at OTA
Open your list like a future guest. Was the first photo convincing? Does the important facility say anything? Is there a photo for any type of room?
# # 3. Read five recent reviews
The latest reviews affect the guest's decision most. One repeated complaint, such as hot water or hygiene, could withstand ordering stronger than the price.
# # 4. Check availability in all channels
Make sure the rooms are not accidentally closed in one of the OTAs, and the prices in each canal are not contradictory.
Number Five. Look at the speed of reservations, not just today
The empty room for next week isn't necessarily a problem. Compare the number of reservations that are already in the same period.
Lower the price as the last step, not the first step. The prices that have gone down are harder to raise.
